Quote Builder and Facebook

What it is: A public page where customers pick services, see a rough total, and send you a request. It lands in Moonlighter as a new client (status Lead), a job and a draft estimate, with the customer's note on the job. No accounts for you or your customers.

Setup:

  1. Settings > Quote Builder: turn it on.
  2. Choose which services to show, and whether each shows an exact or "starting at" price. Services come from your price list.
  3. Add an intro with your service area.
  4. Copy your quote page link. It never changes, even when you edit your services.
  5. Tap Open to test and send yourself a request.

Add it to Facebook:

  1. On Facebook, switch into your business Page.
  2. Tap the ... (more) button under your cover photo, then Edit action button. On some Pages it's Add action button or Edit button.
  3. Pick a button that opens a website, like Contact us or Learn more. If you pick Get quote and it opens Messenger instead, choose another button.
  4. Choose the website option, paste your quote page link, and save.
  5. Tap the button on your Page to test it.

Facebook renames its menus from time to time. If yours look different, look for the action button under your cover photo.

Add it to your own website:

  • Button: add a "Get a Quote" button that links to your quote page. Works with any site builder (Wix, Squarespace, GoDaddy, WordPress).
  • Button code: Settings > Quote Builder > Add it to your website has ready-made button code to paste into an HTML or embed block.

Best practices:

  • Use "starting at" prices for jobs that are hard to price sight unseen.
  • List your service area in the intro.
  • Reply fast. The first business to respond usually gets the job.
  • Every quote shows "Final price confirmed after review."

Free version: your quote page takes 10 requests every 30 days. A request that would go over the free 5-record limit waits in Needs Attention (you can still see and call the customer); unlock to turn it into a client and estimate. The full version has unlimited requests and shows your logo.

Privacy: requests are encrypted on the customer's phone so only your devices can read them. They wait at most 30 days and are deleted once your app picks them up. Every quote page has a Report this page link.
